Black Ice Arts Academy was established to promote and enable our minority youth to express and uplift themselves through the art of dance, with a family atmosphere, while decreasing negative factors within the community.
Donald D. Lynn born and raised in Cincinnati, Oh. He graduated from Withrow International high school in 2009. His school was known for the best drill team, band, and football team. Although he did not dance for his high school team he helped choreograph for their team from time to time and performed in school talent shows. Dancing has always been a passion of his since the age of 5 but his dancing career didn't start until his tenth grade year of high school with a community dance team. After dancing with them for two years, he decided to expand my horizon with Arlando Durham and start their own dance company. In June 2014, he and Arlando created a majorette team name Black Ice. With hard work and dedication Black Ice has become one of the popular teams in the majorette community.
Donald loves to choreograph fierce, feminine, and sassy routines! Donald has been on BETs 106 and park, Blaze the Stage, America's Got Talent, Mid West Spring Bling, and Lifetime's Hit tv show "Bring It!" Through this journey of dance he has been awarded with the Wiz Nation 30 under 30 Trailblazers twice, Cincinnati's Best Dance team, and many competitive trophies nationally.
Fun Fact: His favorite professional choreographers and performers are Yaniz Marshall, Aliyah Janell, Usher, Beyonce, Chris Brown, and Missy Elliott.
Arlando R. Durham Jr. hails from Cincinnati, Ohio. He’s been teaching various forms of dance, including hip-hop, vogue, majorette, and cheerleading since the tender age of 13. He’s had extensive coaching experience with all ages, including middle and high school students. Arlando has received several dancing and coaching awards, and is recognized both in the tri-state area and nationally. He’s appeared on BET’s Wild ‘n Out Wednesdays, Blaze the Stage, America's Got Talent, and more. He received his high school diploma from Colerain High School, and his business degree from Cincinnati State University. While in high school, Arlando played in the marching band, and served as captain of the drill team. Though currently a nursing assistant, Arlando’spassion has always been dancing.
Throughout his dancing career, Arlando has won accolades in several parts of the tri-state area. Among several awards he’s received an award on behalf of the major of Cincinnati for his work with the best dance team in Cincinnati, Oh, Black Ice. Arlando’s coaching brought Black Ice to the hit tv show, Bring It! and ultimately walk away as the Grand Champions.
